Spring Break

Easter night we were sitting around talking about my sister going home to California wishing she could stay longer when Devon chimed in with "Why don't you go home with her. I have to work all week." Really? The next thing that went through my mind was 10 hours of driving in the car with my kids! After a good nights sleep we packed our bags and hit the road. Jake was occupied with his new movie from Easter and Emily kept saying,"I can't believe were going to California." I don't do to many things spur of the moment. The trip was not to bad with the hour or so break to play at Grandma Skinny's.

Jake got to finally use his new golf clubs at a par 3 course with uncle Toe. His new clubs are a little long and he had a little tougher time, but he would not hit with the old clubs either. But with a little help from dad he's doing quite well with the new ones. As for me I love the par three course. I wish we had some in Utah. The kids were done and too hot to play more than 9 holes. Sure wish we could of played the back 9. The 70 degree weather was too much and they were ready for the pool.

The kids love the pool. They kind of forgot how to swim so mom had to jump in and save Jake. I hate cold water but once I HAD to get in it was much more fun than worrying from the sidelines. The water wasn't too cold but it was a bit breezy. Jake never stopped shivering from the time he jumped in. After a while he said his stomach hurt. I think he takes in a lot of water or he's just really cold and his muscles hurt. They are turning into fish. It almost makes me want to put in a pool out back. Too bad summer's only lasts a few months.

Jake started out saying, "I don't like the beach, it takes to long to get there." This time he loved jumping over the waves, and throwing all the rock back into the ocean. Emily loved building sandcastles and ended up jumping waves with Jake in the end. I put one foot in the water and said go have fun it is freezing. I don't know how they can stand the cold water. Terri and I were wrapped in a towel watching them. On the way back to the car, Jake said,"I like the beach now mom." Ya Me too. We played at the parks a lot and fed the ducks too. Jake got the big black geese to eat out of his hand. It was nice to just enjoy the warm weather and hang out with my sister. Thanks Troy and Lauren!

Easter

We got to color eggs with Lauren this year. Emily learned lots of new techniques and fun things to try next year. Jake just likes to dump them in as fast as he can.

Jake's basket was filled with favorite candies but his favorite was his animal video that he watched a little before conference. He loves everything about animals.

The Easter Bunny left Emily her favorite candy, but her favorites were the flip flops and earrings.
This is what Easter morning at our house. Jake was all ready to head outside, barefoot, to find the eggs. Luckily the easter bunny hid the eggs downstairs.

Lets count the eggs to make sure we found them all. Jake is a good counter and Emily is a pretty good teacher. It was fun to have family to spend the day with too!

More snow!!!!!

My Sister came up for their first week of spring break and it snowed twice. Lauren wanted to make a snowman with Jake so she could send a picture to her friend. The snow wasn't sticking together so it had to be a small one. This was the first one of the winter for Jake and he really didn't care much.

Jake was to busy with the more important stuff. He wanted to get his new golf clubs out and hit some balls in the snow but mom put her foot down.

When Aunt Terri found this big snow ball? It was game on. Jake loves snowball fights as long as you don't get him in the face. Lauren found that out the hard way, and fun in the snow was over!

Emily came home from school so she convinced Dad to help her build one in the backyard. The snow was a lot better after it started melting that afternoon. It actually stayed up for a couple of days with all the snow gone. Emily kept putting his eyes and nose back in. She was so proud.

Jake turned 5

On March 29th Jake turned 5. He's growing up so fast. He loves hangin out with dad, golfing, and playing tickle monster. He loves the Cabella's shooting game and wants to shoot a mountain lion. He loves reading books about alligators, snakes and bears. He has the biggest imagination and says the craziest things sometimes. He's sure fun to have around.
He loves spiders. Tarantulas are his favorite. He doesn't like cake so we made brownie cupcakes.
The Birthday girl and boy. We celebrated with the family on Sun. Thanks Britney for sharing your day with Jake.
On Monday Emily ditched school and she went to the Dinosaur Museum with Mom and Jake. Dad had to work so we met him for dinner. This is Jake's favorite place.

Their favorite part is digging for fossils.

Jake got some bigger golf clubs, his favorite gift, and couldn't wait for some warm weather to try them out. Watch out for the TV.

Thanks for the clubs Dad!

Spring?

It's sunny and 50 degrees let's go golfing. We loved being outside enjoying the fresh air. We hope spring is around the corner.

Golfing buddies "best buddies"

Jake hit a lot of great shots. Devo is a little excited about his swing.

Valentine's get away

Thanks to our friends we got to get away to St. George and enjoy the sunshine and golf. It is amazing how a little warm sunshine can make you feel after months of cold and snow.

We played a new course called Sand Hallow. The back nine was beautiful.

Happy Valentine's Day

We went "BYU Bowling" for Valentine's Day! We love "Da da" as Jake says.

My sweet little valentine is growing up so fast.

Ya, I just got a strike. No big deal, I already got a strike on the first ball.

I finally got a spare yahooo!

We got Grandma Due to go with us. Lots of love and fun had by all!
