Jake's preschool Graduation

Jake enjoyed preschool this year. He learned how to write his name and all the letters and sounds too. He knows his numbers and colors too. They had a little program at school and they sang songs. He really loves to sing. He was really cute because he couldn't sing with out swaying back and forth. He is very excited to be going to kindergarten at "Emily's school."

Emily dance review

Emily loves her dance class and her dance teacher. She did a great job at the review. We think she is by far number one in our eyes.

Jake lost two teeth

Two weeks ago Emily had a lose tooth and Dad was checking it, when Jake says, "Do I have any loose teeth?" He has been wanting to lose a tooth since Emily lost her first one in Feb. And I couldn't believe it when Devo said he had two really lose teeth.

So for a few days all he did was wiggle the teeth. Totally against my wishes. We finally let dad pull them out. He went around telling everyone "My Dad pulled it out with his finger." So instead of losing his first tooth he lost his first teeth. He was very happy when the Tooth Fairy left him $4. I can't believe it, he just turned 5 and he's already loosing his teeth. He's not going to look like my little boy any more. His top teeth are lose too! I'm trying to hold him off for a while by warning Devo to tell him they're not lose so he won't wiggle them out.

T-Ball

Jake's playing t-ball this year. I think he is so dang cute! The first game was a little rough, when he got ran over the first base runner, he wanted to go home. Now that he has the hang of things he really likes it.

He loves that Dad helps coach and he likes to play first base. He has a really good arm. If his fingers were stronger and he could open the glove he might even be able to catch the ball too. He has the best attention span of the whole team.

He is actually hitting the ball quite well. The last picture is blurry because he is lightning fast. Well not exactly with that huge oversized heavy helmet. All the kids run like snails trying to get to first base under the huge helmets.

Mother's Day

Mother's day was Awesome! On Saturday Emily and Dad sent me away to go grocery shopping and they made me a cut up cake. This is a tradition we do for Dad for father's day, but he gets to go golfing, she decided weeks in advance that she was going to do the same for me. She designed the whole thing and Dad helped her put it together. I came home to a big "Surprise!"
It was fun to watch her be so proud and excited. She is truly awesome and so creative. I sure love these guys.

Spring Break

Easter night we were sitting around talking about my sister going home to California wishing she could stay longer when Devon chimed in with "Why don't you go home with her. I have to work all week." Really? The next thing that went through my mind was 10 hours of driving in the car with my kids! After a good nights sleep we packed our bags and hit the road. Jake was occupied with his new movie from Easter and Emily kept saying,"I can't believe were going to California." I don't do to many things spur of the moment. The trip was not to bad with the hour or so break to play at Grandma Skinny's.

Jake got to finally use his new golf clubs at a par 3 course with uncle Toe. His new clubs are a little long and he had a little tougher time, but he would not hit with the old clubs either. But with a little help from dad he's doing quite well with the new ones. As for me I love the par three course. I wish we had some in Utah. The kids were done and too hot to play more than 9 holes. Sure wish we could of played the back 9. The 70 degree weather was too much and they were ready for the pool.

The kids love the pool. They kind of forgot how to swim so mom had to jump in and save Jake. I hate cold water but once I HAD to get in it was much more fun than worrying from the sidelines. The water wasn't too cold but it was a bit breezy. Jake never stopped shivering from the time he jumped in. After a while he said his stomach hurt. I think he takes in a lot of water or he's just really cold and his muscles hurt. They are turning into fish. It almost makes me want to put in a pool out back. Too bad summer's only lasts a few months.

Jake started out saying, "I don't like the beach, it takes to long to get there." This time he loved jumping over the waves, and throwing all the rock back into the ocean. Emily loved building sandcastles and ended up jumping waves with Jake in the end. I put one foot in the water and said go have fun it is freezing. I don't know how they can stand the cold water. Terri and I were wrapped in a towel watching them. On the way back to the car, Jake said,"I like the beach now mom." Ya Me too. We played at the parks a lot and fed the ducks too. Jake got the big black geese to eat out of his hand. It was nice to just enjoy the warm weather and hang out with my sister. Thanks Troy and Lauren!

Easter

We got to color eggs with Lauren this year. Emily learned lots of new techniques and fun things to try next year. Jake just likes to dump them in as fast as he can.

Jake's basket was filled with favorite candies but his favorite was his animal video that he watched a little before conference. He loves everything about animals.

The Easter Bunny left Emily her favorite candy, but her favorites were the flip flops and earrings.
This is what Easter morning at our house. Jake was all ready to head outside, barefoot, to find the eggs. Luckily the easter bunny hid the eggs downstairs.

Lets count the eggs to make sure we found them all. Jake is a good counter and Emily is a pretty good teacher. It was fun to have family to spend the day with too!
