Halloween

The kids love Halloween unlike their mom

Cleopatra

Devo had to show Jake the Heisman pose

Jake was feeling all legit in his BYU football costume.  Needed a little field goal practice before going out trick or treating.

 Field goal for championship!

Emily did a great job carving her cat pumpkin all by herself.

Jake had a rough start with a bit of a melt down at first.  But he kept trying and figured out how to get the knife to work for him.  His scary dog turned out great.  "We can do hard things"

This is jakes load of candy.  It was a really warm night, so they ended up going down to Hunter Meadows to see some friends.  Too much candy.  Mom and Aunt Terri sat on the porch and handed out candy.

I have always wanted to make pumpkin seeds so we found a recipe.

I don't know if I did something wrong, but we decided we don't like pumpkin seeds.

Cute!

She loves wearing make-up on Halloween!
Love the costumes this year!  Can you say free? Big thanks to our friends the Welburns.  We're going shopping in their Halloween box every year.

Cousin Fun

The Peterson cousins came and spent conference weekend with us.  Emily found a craft for the girls to do during conference.  Tommy and Sam stayed with us too.  Everyone got along so well. We love spending time with cousins.  Think I have gotten spoiled with my 2 kids.  Meal time with 8 kids is exhausting! Still, it was such a fun weekend had by all. Hope they stay with us again soon!

Such lovely flip flops

Car Wash

Dad's car is too big to go through the car wash.  So this is the Peterson family car wash.  Anyone that helps usually gets rewarded with Slurpees.

Jake made sure the top was clean.

Pet Parade

Every September the school has a pet parade where all the students bring their pets.  It is the kids favorite day of school!  They were so excited to show of their new pets they got for Christmas.
Ball Python (Crusher)  Going to need a bigger box by the time he is in 6th grade

Cockatiel  (Kiwi)

Boys and Girls Day

Devo took Jake on his first hunting trip with Tommy and Uncle Paul.  Jake loved it!  I think pheasant hunting might be his thing.  He came home with a pheasant feather and told everyone he saw all about it.

The girls had their own day of fun too! Pedicures

Red Mango!  Emily's Favorite

Spanish Fork Canyon

On Labor Day we went for a 4 wheeler ride in Spanish Fork Canyon with the Fultons
Lauren was in town on her way to BYU Idaho so we had her tag along.

The road was pretty but dusty

This picture doesn't really show the dirt we were all covered in.  You can see Lauren's sun glass marks.

Too darn cute!

So glad Lauren came along.

Jake and Tommy prefer to explore instead of ride the 4 wheelers.

Lauren was my chauffeur.  I decided I like just riding and looking at the scenery.  It was a relaxing trip for me.  No kids and no driving required.

Jake decided he likes 4 wheeling when he gets to drive!

Emily always drives with Aunt Jill and Tommy.  They are so much fun!

Maybe Jake will want to go on more 4 wheeler rides if he gets to drive

Emily and Tommy took turns driving on the way back.
Lots of fun hanging with family.

Soccer Jake

Jake is our offensive player.  He was a scoring machine this year.  He scored a goal in every game, and tied his all time record from his younger years, with 4 goals in a game, several times this year.

He's pretty proud of this goal

"I kick it from 30 yards out"

Yes!

He also enjoyed playing goalie for half of the game.

He even took care of the bigger kids

This goalie blocked Jake's shot on goal

Here he is staring him down

Poor girl!  Watch out for Jake he is here to play. Not even the girls are safe

This is Dad's thumbs up sign for Jake and he's celebrating a goal with his teammates using it.  Too funny.

These are the three amigos who ran the team.  They were really good. Fun to have our neighbors Justin and Jahlal on his team.
