Camping at 6 Mile Pond

Fishing, fishing, fishing, that's what we did for 3 days in July. The fish were biting every time we put the line in. My kind of fishing, no patience required. This was by far Jake's most favorite thing to do morning noon and night. He didn't like to catch and release though. He would cry. He started to put them in a bucket to take home to "put them in the bath tub for his pets". He didn't realize they were dead. Tommy made his own pole from a stick and actually caught a fish on it.

Camping is a whole lot more fun with 4-wheelers. It was a little scary in parts but I finally figured out how to drive, but would feel more comfortable with the kids at least wearing bike helmets. Jill and Paul had the smooth ride on their motorcycles. Terri and Lauren came up for the day to enjoy in the fun and scenery. The kids loved to go through the water, especially Sam.

The kids loved playing in the water and Emily actually fell in "head first" and was quite upset. Sam loved throwing rocks in the water. Jill and Paul have the luxury hotel while we get the motel 6 tent. One day we may upgrade.

Jill (the pro) decided to teach us how to ride her motorcycle. The kids called it the training field. I can't even ride a bike well, so this was a little scary. Every thing went great until I panicked and hit the gas instead of the break while heading toward a pole. Devo thought it was going to end badly but after I crashed I only ended up with a few scratches and bruises from the peg. Lauren was a born natural like her Dad. But, she did go second and learned from my mistakes.

It was fun to share our favorite camping place with family this year.

Wedding Bells for Jeremy & Britney

After 6 long months, September 9th finally arrived. There were looming clouds and the threat of rain spoiling their outdoor wedding but the sun began to shine as they came out of the doors of the Timpanogas Temple as husband and wife. Boy, were they happy. The kids were cute peeking through the glass doors waiting to see Britney. ( It took her a while to get beautiful)

The reception was at Thanksgiving points Hidden Falls. Very beautiful and the kids enjoyed the waterfall and river that wrapped around the garden. They played and floated things down it and kept entertained all night. Unlike at the temple where Jake just couldn't sit still a minute longer. Emily enjoyed having everyone sign her new cast. It was a fun day.

Summer Fun

Okay I'm trying to catch up . This is how our summer started. Can you say summer vacation. This was the first night, the kids were in bed and we could hear them talking and doing something, and when we went to bed here they were, pillows at their doors, having their own little sleep over. So we decided to put up the tent in the basement but they wouldn't sleep down there by themselves until cousin Tommy came. Then they were awake chatting at 2 in the morning and mom killed the party by putting them in their own beds.

Summer vacation isn't complete with out some water slide fun. We added to the fun with a slip n slide. It took the kids a little while to get used to it but they were slip sliding away in no time.

First day of school

My little kindergartener! The first day mom got to go to school with him. Lots of fun ! Second day he didn't want any help getting inside and said, "I can do it Mom" so I said goodbye at the curb and watched him walk in with Emily and about cried. I was so nervous for him. I actually drove around the block to make sure he was okay. I know pretty silly, I felt much better when I picked him up and he loved it! He loves his new independence.

My little second grader. She loves school and her teacher. She tries to help and take care of Jake but he doesn't want any part of it.

Uh oh!

Check out Emily's new look! Emily broke her arm (humerus right above her elbow) on Sat. while her mom and Dad were in San Diego. Grandma Skinny took good care of her, thanks! She was running at the park and tripped over her flip flops and fell on the sidewalk. It is really hard to be so far away when your baby is hurt and needs you, I was ready to be home! Luckily we were on our way home the next morning. She just got the cast on today and she is liking it a whole lot better than the temporary one she got in the E.R. She can hold a pencil with it so school will be much better tomorrow. She's not much of a lefty. She is the flower girl for Britney's wedding on Thursday, so good thing one of the colors is green. Maybe the cast will blend in.

Cowabunga Baby!

Our favorite new summer water park. Cowabunga Bay! We went twice. Lots of water slides just my kids size. Emily loved all the slides even the scary ones. Her and Tommy were very adventurous. Jake went on all the open slides with mom. But with the wind he was always too cold and wanted to spend his time in the heated pool and lazy river.

The living aquarium

We finally made it to the living aquarium. We wanted to feed the sting ray but it was full. The kids had fun touching them as they swam by though. Our favorite animals were the green anaconda and the caiman. The poisonous dart frogs were pretty cool too. It was fun to have Grandma Due come with us to share in the fun.
