Lots of Valentine's Day Love

We received lots of Valentines from far away places.  The kids loved checking the mail to look for Packages.  Aunt Terri's was the first to arrive.  Jake loved his dinosaur and strong man made of pipe cleaners and of course the candy was gone in about an hour.  Thanks Aunt Terri We love ya.

Grandma and Grandpa Skinny sent money for, of course, ice cream. yum yum.  Can't wait to spend it.  Thanks!

We love our Peterson cousins in Tuscon.  Thanks for all the fun goodies.  We sure miss ya.

Emily loses first tooth

Emily finally losses her first tooth at school.  The teacher gave her a sticker to wear and a baggy for the tooth.  She has been telling us for many months that her teeth were getting lose because everyone around her were losing their teeth.  We were quite surprised this time when she was actually right.

The Tooth Fairy was very busy the first night and didn't quite make it to our house!!!!  So the second night Emily was sure excited about the $4 she found under her pillow.  The Tooth Fairy must have felt pretty bad for not making it the first night!!!

Trip to Cali

We planned a quick trip to California for a funeral.  Thanks to Brad and Meesh and Britney watching the kids, I was able to go with my sisters.  Lysandra's husband passed away from cancer and we thought we'd surprise her with the whole family.  It was the first non lds funeral I've been to and it sure made me appreciative of the knowledge we have and how individual and personal our worship and prayers can be.  The weather was beautiful and we soaked in the warm sun every chance we got.  It was so fun that I think we will plan a yearly girl trip to Terri's during the winter to hang out and soak in the sun.

Shopping with grandma Due

Grandma Due was out of town for Emily's birthday so they went shopping.  Emily is quite the shopper so Grandma had her hands full.  Pappa was smart and just sat in the middle of the mall and let the girls go!  After shopping Emily took them to California Pizza Kitchen.  Emily had so much fun and wanted to wear her outfit right away.

Here's Emily modeling her new outfit the next day before school.  Grandma went all out with the matching shoes and hair bows too!  Thanks Grandma, she wants to wear it everyday.

Boys Night Out

Devo took Jake to see Walking With The Dinosaurs at the Delta Center.  It's a show with life like robotic dinosaurs and a Paleontologist middle stage taking you through the different periods and animals that lived in those times.  Devo said it was pretty cool and Jake just looooved it!  He stayed awake on the ride home till 10 so he could tell mom all about it.  He just couldn't stop talking about it.  And yes now he still thinks dinosaurs are real and " live up on top of  the mountains."

Jake's T-rex "prize" from the show and carries it everywhere.

Go Jazz!

We got to go to a Jazz game earlier in the month.  It's our yearly trip using the Hospital tickets.  They are really nice seats and the best part is they are free.  So it's a pretty cheap date especially when Aunt Jill watches the kids.  Thanks!  They played the Pacers.  I didn't recognize any players, that's probably why we got the tickets, but it still was a good game and fun seeing the players up close.  Can't wait till next year!

Emily is 6

Emily and mom started the day with candles in the donut (dad style) and a Happy Birthday song.  She wanted to open all her presents before school.  We compromised and opened Aunt Terri's.  She decided to wear the shirt to school.

After school when Dad was home we opened the rest of the presents.  Grandma Skinny's was a hit and we carried it with us for the rest of the day.  We went to the movies and saw The Tale of Desperaux. Then we went shopping and bought some clothes and of course some shoes.  Then Brad and Michelle and cousins helped us celebrate at Olive Garden for dinner.  It was a busy day filled with excitement.

The next day we took some friends to Build A Bear.  This was our first trip.  It was a lot of fun and she carries her monkey around with her everywhere.

No mall trip is complete with out a stop at Coldstone,  This is Emily's favorite place.  No cake this year, just ice cream.
